Making Friends at School Costs $0.20

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know I’m all about offering colleagues some nice tangible reinforcers to grease the wheels. Incidentally, some people at the new program hate my guts anyway…but they still liked getting Krispy Kreme a few weeks ago (watch Groupon–they run a “$20 worth of donuts for $10” deal pretty regularly).

If you’re looking for a cheap bribe, Costco has a 100-pack of gel pens in assorted colors for $20. That’s just $0.20 per suck-up. These were even cheaper a few weeks ago ($13.00), but $20 isn’t bad, and they write really beautifully. Such a great deal that I even used one to reward a kid today!

About sara

I have spent the last 18 years in various classrooms, most of them in alternative education working with criminal, at-risk, or behavior-disordered students. I am just a regular teacher like you, who learned a lot of quality information the hard way. Currently, I work with students, families, and teachers to formulate effective and creative plans for helping students change problematic behaviors into productive ones as we work together to reintegrate students back into a general education high school setting.
