New Social Skills Game Posted!

In the midst of the start-of-the-year chaos and crushing fatigue, I somehow managed to write a new social skills game, School Skills Building Bricks.

We played it today in class, and the fellas (I have a class of all guys with ASD) gave it great reviews. We played for a bit over 70 minutes and only used about a third of the questions I wrote, so we can play again at least two more times and not have any repeats. I had to buy a set of Lego-type bricks on Amazon for this particular game, and it almost stopped me from writing it–ugh, the cost, right? I caught the bricks on a flash sale for $26; right now, they’re $34. Totally worth the cost and the effort when I saw the fellas laughing and debating.

I’ve got the new game on the website for free. I hope it can make one of your start-of-the-year crunch days a little more fun!

I have spent the last 18 years in various classrooms, most of them in alternative education working with criminal, at-risk, or behavior-disordered students. I am just a regular teacher like you, who learned a lot of quality information the hard way. Currently, I work with students, families, and teachers to formulate effective and creative plans for helping students change problematic behaviors into productive ones as we work together to reintegrate students back into a general education high school setting.
